We own a lake house that is quiet during the week, so we'd just need the small combo for sandwiches and soups. But when the weekend hits, we are filled with family and friends and we are cooking from Breakfast to Late Night! I'd use the wok to quick-stir-fry veggies for several meals including Breakfast fritatas to Lunch sandwiches on the boat to a dinner of Grilled Nebraska Steaks with Corn on the Cob. I love making homemade soup and with the Dutch Ovens, they can quietly simmer on the back burner all day. These pans would look so beautiful at my House At The Lake kitchen. :) see it

My current cookware is a motley crew of mismatched pieces. I've always preferred nonstick finishes but since buying myself a small Calphalon AccuCore skillet to replace a flaking teflon pan, I have realized that stainless is better for my cooking style and actually easier to keep clean. Now that my kids are getting older and will actually try new foods, I'd love to be more aspirational in the kitchen with some new pieces. The ability to go from burner to oven is one I haven't experimented with much. I'd love to give it a shot. see it

The Holiday Hostess!
I am our family's HOLIDAY HOSTESS! I host Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas Eve Brunch, and I LOVE to cook and create unique food gifts for my family, friends and holiday guests. I need a cookware set that can help me with all my holiday and everyday cooking needs for my family tha tinculdes 4 growing, hungry boys. I make two turkeys every Thanksgiving so we have lots of leftovers (another roaster and rack would be VERY helpful), and I let nothing go to waste. After we eat the turkey meat I cook what's left down to make delicious turkey broth that will last for months afterward. It would be wonderful to have the second 8-qt stockpot to simmer down the second pot of broth at the same time! In the late summer/ fall I process and can produce to make pickled veggies, preserves and jams to last throughout the year. From pear cranberry chutney, to apple and pumpkin butter that goes home with each of my Thanksgiving guests, to canned tomatoes I gift to my mother in law to remind her of her mother in law, I use EVERY pan in my house... and could use a more functional set! For Christmas Eve Brunch, we roast a beautiful beef tenderloin with port shallot mushroom sauce (4-qt sauce pan and cover) and individualized omelettes for each of our guests (12" omelette pan). Finally, when we are tired of all that traditional, american food we always find ourselves craving a great, healthy tofu stir fry (12" flat bottom wok). Being wok-less, we usually just use a large skillet. It's just not the same! see it

I was making Chilli the other night and was looking around for my Stock Pot that I normally use. I found it, said to self..."it's time for a huge upgrade" This blue/grey stock pot is done. I told my daughter this is what I need for Christmas, one of many items mind you. Later that night as I was scanning Facebook, I ran across a posting and seen an offer for a drawing from one of my favorite food bloggers/chef's. I felt like I had already won a prize, perfect timing. I've always wanted a Calphalon piece and this is the incentive now for family members to surprise me with this gift. Hint, hint Hubby would prefer the stainless steel version, since he is a CHEF, however, I prefer the non-stick. I have a tendency to be busy doing a zillion things when I'm in the Kitchen and some items just may begin to stick if I'm not careful, so just in case I get side tracked, this is the perfect set for me!. I'm hosting several holiday dinner parties with family and friends in the coming weeks and the Dutch Oven will come in handy with several of the menu items I have planned. i LOVE the fact that i can combine pieces of the sear non-stick alongside high-performance stainless items! Now that the cold weather is here, I can't wait to use the nonstick dutch oven to sear meats and then combine them with scrumptious veggies and sauces; its nice to know that even after hours of cooking and simmering, the cleanup will be a snap! The stainless sauce pan and saute pan are going to be IDEAL for making warm weather sauces to pour over the incredible steaks and pasta that i'll be making to take off the chill from the outside. I cook Chinese food and it requires high heat to stir fry the ingredients. I like the non stick Unison series becasue it can take the high temp and still be non stick. This allows me to use less oil to cook my food. I can cook my brown rice in 1 pot and main course in the 13" wok and side dishes in the base set. see it
